Birth Doula Class (DONA certified)

This training includes the 4 classes needed to become a certified Birth Doula. Each class is on a different day. When you register and pay for our In-person training, you will receive virtual access to 3 other required and mandatory classes to complete your training.
What’s Included?
The cost of our workshop is low cost compared to other trainings! We believe that the more Birth Doulas we have, the better the outcomes will be for Black mothers and their babies. Through our trainer, Nikia Lawson, MA, BSW, CD/BDT(DONA), we are offering 4 series of classes for the price of $450. The classes included are:
Child Birth Education (virtual) - a 4-part, 16-hour detailed series on the foundations of childbirth education. This class is necessary for certification. Virtual class dates are August 30th (4 hours), Sept 1 (4 hours), Sept 6 (4 hours), and Sept 8 (4 hours). Each class starts at 6:30 pm EST. You must attend the duration of all 4 classes & sign in to receive credit. An extra $10 is needed if you want to receive a certificate.
Doula Birth Training (in person) - a two-day certification & evidence-based training class about the benefits of doula support, the history of birth, the significance of doula support to families, practical hands-on techniques, as well as the training to begin a career as a birth doula. This is our in-person training taking place on September 23 & 24 2022 in Vineland, NJ.
Business Masterclass (virtual) - a 4-hour class designed to map out the strategy to build your Doula Business by cultivating the connections within your community and within yourself. Participating in a business webinar is also a requirement of certification with DONA International. The class takes place virtually on October 5th from 1 pm to 5 pm EST.
Lactation Consultant Training (virtual) - a 5-hour class that teaches lactation basics such as positions, latching, and how to get hospital staff support. This class takes place virtually on October 20th from 6 pm to 11 pm EST.

What is a Doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
What certification is given?
DONA International is the world’s leader in evidence-based doula training, certification and continuing education. Our training will be provided by DONA certified trainer, Nikia Lawson CD/BDT(DONA).
